How do I know if my cell phone information is saved to the SIM card?

I have an OLD cell phone. i290 with Boostmobile. I was going to buy a SIM card reader to get all my old info. I don’t want to waste me money if the phone didn’t save my info to the SIM card. How can I be sure that my phone did indeed save my information to the SIM card?
Thank you.

In short, you can’t – even if you selected some menu function to tell it to do this, and it said “completed”, it could still be mistaked or suffer from some software bug.
It also depends on what information you mean. SIMs typically only store (from a customer perspective) a phone book with numbers and names, a short-dial list, and some SMS messages.
They don’t typically store contact lists (email addresses, postal addresses etc.) or differentiate between home/work/fax/mobile numbers.
Some network/service providers (in the UK) offer a free service to (prospective) customers to transfer stuff from one SIM to another; you could try your local store.
I’ve got 2 SIM card readers, both extremely cheap, and easier for transferring updated phonebooks than manually keying in numbers etc.
Even if I only use them about twice a year.
the sim card do not store any other information of your cell phone, except the contact information.
